Single Track and Freeride at Bedgebury Forest - Bedgebury, Kent
About 12-16km of singletrack and cross country depending on where you start.
Bedgebury forest is managed by the Forestry Commission. It's been in varying states of repair over the last few years. The winter of 2007/2008 saw the single track reduced to swamp status for much of the time but recently has received some maintenance. The repair work has seen many of the bogs filled in with what I've heard to be type 1 stone. Not ideal but still a big improvement on what it was.
This is a fairly short course but some of the sections are a total blast. As it's the only 'trail centre' in the area and longest run of singletrack I know of, some riders do multiple circuits. Half way around there's a new section of completely man-made trail made from that pesky type1 stone with 3 or 4 high berms with a pump/jump bump at the end. Nicely shaped but not settled in at the time of writing. The one problem with this is that chunky gravel is still a bit loose. Wouldn't want to come off on it.
Freeride and North Shore
They've not got it quite right as all the shore sections are split into about 4 or 5 main strips but this doesn't do it justice as there's no flow to it this way. It's the kind of thing where you'd probably just ride it as an afterthought if there's any energy left for the singletrack.
Jump Track
There's some fun to be had here but not a patch on some of the other local freeride to be had in Kent and Sussex such as the Bull Track.
How to get there
Bedgebury is right on the Kent and Sussex border just off the A21 between London and Hastings. The narrow lane that leads to the trails centre is well sign posted from the A21.
There is no restriction to riding in the forest but the car park is only open in daylight hours.

This isn't great footage but you get to see some of the single track here. Turn the volume down as there's a lot of unwanted mic noise
